Joe McHugh has 25 years of experience as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of a NASDAQ firm, and a Rule 144A SEC-filing private family holding corp. in several diverse industries. Joe currently assists PE firms and strategic buyers in M&A due diligence many industries, mentors Entrepreneurs, and served as Interim CFO for a portfolio company of American Industrial Partners (“AIP”) in 2018.
From 2006 to June 30, 2015, Joe served as CFO at then publicly-held NASDAQ Rand Logistics, a successful Blank Check IPO and leading provider of dry bulk shipping transportation serving the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway, where Joe’s accomplishments included (1) acquiring and financing 11 large “Laker” vessels, and (2) increasing EBITDA from less than $6 million per year to approximately $35million per year. Additionally, he has served on the Board of Directors if several US based companies.
From 1992 to 2006, Joe served as the CFO of a family holding company which owned a diversified group of international industrial and technology-based manufacturing and services businesses, including medium voltage drives, power interconnect systems, coaxial connectors, ion/electron beam systems, particle surface analysis equipment and laboratory services, medical tubing, plastic Injection molding, and instruments/sensors. Prior to 1992, Joe served in Operations-Finance Management and Controller positions at a GSX (semiconductor equipment and high value optical systems) and Honeywell.
Joe has (1) closed dozens of M&A/Divestiture transactions aggregating over $1 Billion USD in the middle market space in the US and Europe, and (2) closed over $1 Billion in over a dozen debt and/or equity financings with various structures with major US and European lenders, mutual funds, insurance companies, & PE investors.
